Great article. cataloging data can simplify workflow and make the process more efficient, but i'm curious can the metadata also be an infrastructure? or is it because they "exist outside the actual dev workflow".
*also i noticed some repetitions on the slack messaging line.
Love it! Completely agree - any company that treats data catalogue or data governance as a standalone initiative is bound to fail.
The only way to make these kind of tools stick is as part of an end-to-end data life cycle management solution that unlocks and safe guards high quality trustworthy data access for humans and AI systems.
A lot of this will not be in the tooling but in processes and governance.
